IEEE 4 Node Test Case

IEEE 4 Node Feeder XENDEE Test Cases

IEEE 4 Node Test Feeder tests the capability of a program to represent transformers of various configurations, full three phase lines, and unbalanced loads. It has a transformer and a load with overhead transmission lines.

The PDF guide provided for the test cases in IEEE4NodeBalanced.zip and IEEE4NodeUnbalanced.zip are one of several designed to support skills development in distribution network modeling. It can be used during standard university curricula, a short industry course, self-guided lessons, peer learning, or other training opportunities.

Files resulting from the guide can also be modified at the discretion of the user to pursue advanced topics of analysis. The IEEE Test Feeders are used as examples given their wide recognition and use. Resulting power flow analysis and short circuit analysis are presented in separate documents for each test feeder.

Each guide is developed through a partnership between Arizona State University researchers and XENDEE. These training guides have been successfully used to train people individually, in small and large classrooms, during interactive microgrid boot camps, and during short sessions for industry integrators and operators.

Test Case Overview

The XENDEE XML one-line diagram and power flow models in the IEEE4NodeTestFeeder.zip file demonstrate how to model the IEEE 4 Node Test Feeder cases for all step down transformer scenarios in the XENDEE cloud computing platform.

XENDEE power flow simulation models and system infrastructure documentation are also included with this guide.
