CHALLENGE:

The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) faces two key challenges related to energy research. Firstly, they need to conduct research on hydrokinetic energy, specifically on tidal and wave energy in collaboration with the University of Alaska, US Department of Energy (DOE), and Native American villages in Alaska.

Secondly, they require modeling research for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) using innovative concepts supported by the US DOE.

SOLUTION:

To fulfill its research requirements, INL sought the expertise of Xendee. Xendee's capabilities enable them to conduct analysis and optimization of tidal and wave energy projects for hydrokinetic energy research. Moreover, Xendee's development of innovative modeling concepts for SMRs empowers INL to conduct research with significant potential impact in the field.

RESULTS:

The INL and Xendee partnership has proved to be fruitful, as Xendee's platform and energy analytics capabilities facilitated innovative research in hydrokinetic energy and SMRs.

The collaboration also led to additional research funding for INL, which allowed them to expand their research efforts and remain at the forefront of their field.

The partnership between INL and Xendee delivers significant benefits to both parties, enabling INL to advance its research efforts and Xendee to upgrade its platform capabilities.
