State of California Energy Commission

The State of California Energy Commission is seeking a novel streamlined approach to Microgrid screening and siting to maximize locational Distributed Energy Resource (DER) and microgrid value as well as a validated, transparent, and accessible tool to create financial projections and run optimizations.

Xendee's approach is based on locational constraints faced by the State of California and will include feeder hosting capacity, local grid reliability, energy usage intensity, critical facilities, high penetration of renewables, and disadvantaged communities.

This project will merge Xendee’s optimization capabilities, visualization interfaces, and power flow capabilities with EPRI’s design experience. Major partners are the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL).
