OurEnergy used Xendee’s platform to design and deliver advanced renewable energy and microgrid solutions for major clients including Ericsson’s “5G factory of the future” and the California DMV headquarters, supporting decarbonization, resilience, and investment-grade infrastructure planning.
OurEnergy is a renewable energy consulting, engineering, project management, and development services company based in Santa Cruz, CA. They have supported projects across the U.S., Latin America, the Pacific Islands, and Africa.
OurEnergy has utilized Xendee’s platform as an integral tool to successfully integrate renewable energy solutions in many projects, including for two large facilities, a “5G factory of the future” for global electronics and telecom Ericsson, and another for the California DMV Sacramento Headquarters.
OurEnergy, utilizing Xendee’s platform, helped Ericsson, the global electronics and telecom corporation develop onsite renewable energy solutions for its “5G factory of the future” construction. This effort supported a LEED Gold certification and decarbonization pathways, including a fixed-price contract for 100% green-e certified local wind power, while meeting strict business and operational goals.
For Ericsson’s “5G factory of the future” new construction, they were seeking a LEED Gold certification along with measured pathways to decarbonization and resilience, while meeting stringent business and operational objectives.
OurEnergy was selected to develop onsite renewable energy solutions to help them achieve these objectives for the factory, including ~25% baseload offset phase 1, EV supply equipment, VOR assessment, and an investment-grade analysis.

OurEnergy, utilizing Xendee’s platform, helped the California DMV Sacramento headquarters campus promote grid independence and support a sustainable community by developing a comprehensive renewable energy strategy. This included the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) and electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), as well as extensive collaboration with DMV leadership, local utility (SMUD), and stakeholders, resulting in an investment-grade plan for optimal campus electrical infrastructure configuration.
The CA DMV Sacramento headquarters campus project, including an interconnected CA Highway Patrol facility, included 5 buildings & 9 parking lots, existing solar array atop one roof structure, and limited UPS, switching, backup generation. The goals of this project included:
OurEnergy provided strategic planning, design development, and options analysis, as well as extensive collaboration with DMV leadership, local utility (SMUD) and project stakeholders to achieve the needed alignment.
