Large European CHP OEM

Large European CHP OEM

Challenge:

An agricultural operation with multiple greenhouses was looking to reduce their energy costs and achieve resilience by installing onsite generation.

An RfP had been issued to multiple generator OEMs to make a pitch for this work.

Solution:

A large European CHP OEM leveraged XENDEE to model the project. Included as inputs were the  electricity load, cooling load and a 3-day outage (automatically selected by XENDEE to be during the highest demand period).

XENDEE considered multiple technologies and suggested two CHP units for the electric load as well as for riding through the 3-day outage. For the cooling load Xendee suggested an absorption chiller which used the waste heat from the CHPs to maintain the temperature within the greenhouse.

Results:

The OEM made a compelling recommendation to its potential client by catering to both electric and thermal load using Xendee.

Xendee’s output made the investment case transparent by showing the cost reduction achieved versus the current utility bills as well as ROI, cash-flow analysis.

Furthermore, the OEM leveraged Xendee as a BD tool and engaged with the client directly on the Xendee platform, making adjustments and iterating live to fine tune the results.
